20 Minutes of Cardio A Day Keeps the Doctor at Bay!

Get outside for some fresh air, go to the gym or stay inside. Get on your machine of choice or use the beautiful outdoors for your inspiration. It could be a workout video, machine or trail you've been on before or have been dying to try.

Whatever it is that gets you going find it, and do it for 20 minutes a day. You can walk, jump, dance, hop, or chase after your toddler but whatever you choose do, do it for 20 minutes. All the effort you need is a change in your breathing, not dying but a definite change. This is going to begin what's called a "Healthy Heart".

You have just started working towards keeping your heart healthy. You are working your heart and lungs which is going to do a whole lot for you as well as help you lose weight.

NOTE:

If you haven't worked out for a while (or ever), work your way up to 20 minutes. Never start at your goal, ease into it. That way you will achieve it and won't give up because you almost killed yourself the day before.

This is moderate level exercising. No sprinting, running, extreme sports etc.

This type of exercise is meant for heart and lung health not weight loss. Initially you will notice a change in your weight but as you get used to it you will need to extend your workouts and/or change them up to see a continued weight loss / body improvement.

2 other things you can do is STRETCHING and WEIGHT LIFTING.

Stretching keeps you safe and limber while weight lifting helps you gain muscle which burns more calories; it also keeps you fit and strong.

NEVER:

Lift weights improperly or lift weights that are too heavy.

Keep exercising if you are breathing too heavy, blacking out or having troubles breathing.

DON'T GET DOWN ON YOURSELF AND DO A LITTLE SOMETHING EVERY DAY!

  1. I went running twice last week. It is Wednesday and I've done nothing.at.all. Hope you are running on that handy dandy treadmill! If you do two minutes walking, one running, eight times you'll eventually feel. like. dying. Unless of course you are in much better shape then myself! Love ya
